How Much Does a Brand Film or Corporate Video Cost in India?
There is no single price, and here is why
Ask five production houses what a brand film costs and you will get five very different answers. That is not because they are all guessing. "A brand film" can mean a one-day shoot with a small crew, or a multi-day production across several locations. The price follows the work.
So instead of a number that would mislead you, here is what actually moves the price. Once you know these, you can judge any quote you receive.
What drives the cost
Shoot days. This is usually the biggest factor. Every extra day adds crew time, equipment and travel.
Crew size. A director, camera operator, sound person and lighting team is a different job from one person with a camera. More people means more cost, and usually more polish.
Equipment. Cameras, lenses, lighting and audio gear all count. Specialist equipment such as drones or gimbals adds to the bill.
Location. A studio gives you control. A location adds travel, setup time and sometimes permissions. Several locations multiply all of that.
Concept and scripting. A video that needs a developed idea, a script and a shot list takes real thinking time before anyone picks up a camera.
Editing. A straightforward cut is lighter than a film with graphics, sound design and a full colour grade.
Formats and cutdowns. One long film plus several short versions for social media costs more than a single video. It usually costs much less than shooting each version separately.
Music, voiceover and licensing. Licensed music and a voiceover artist are often separate line items. Ask whether they are included.
Revisions. Find out how many rounds of changes are part of the price.
How to compare quotes fairly
Two quotes at different prices are not comparable until you know what each one includes. Ask every studio to spell out:
- the number of shoot days and the crew on each
- whether editing, colour and sound are included
- how many final videos you get, and in which formats
- whether music and voiceover are included
- how many rounds of revisions are included
- what you own at the end, including the final files and the raw footage
A cheaper quote that leaves out editing or music is not actually cheaper. It just moves the cost to later.
Ways to keep the budget under control
Batch your shoots. One day producing several videos is more efficient than several separate shoot days.
Decide the purpose first. One clear goal, such as showing your facility or explaining a service, beats a film that tries to do everything.
Plan the shot list before shoot day. Time on set is the expensive part, so arrive knowing what you need.
Plan for reuse. Ask for short cutdowns from the same shoot so one day of filming gives you months of content.
Prepare the location. Sort out access, keep the space tidy and have the right people available on the day.
Red flags in a quote
A single number with no breakdown. No portfolio of finished work similar to what you want. Pressure to decide quickly. Vague answers about who owns the files.
How we price
Our production work is scoped per project, because shoot scope varies too much for a flat number to mean anything. We would rather quote the work you actually need than guess.
For editing alone, we publish the price: ₹2,000 per edited reel. For ongoing content, our plans are ₹45,000 a month for Strategy & Editing and ₹85,000 a month for End-to-End.
